Philosophy of Music

At the Beaumont Songbirds Choirs, our philosophy is that music is for everyone. We strive to be a vibrant force for choral music in our community, weaving together the rich tapestry of musical genres, cultures, and traditions that define Canada's diverse musical landscape. We are dedicated to promoting the art of choral music as a unifying and transformative experience.

Our philosophy is threefold:

Community Enrichment: We aim to increase live singing experiences in our community, fostering a deep appreciation for the power of voices united in harmony. Through our performances, workshops, and community engagements, we seek to inspire and uplift people of all backgrounds.

Musical Education: We are committed to nurturing a love for classical, folk, musical theatre, and pops music by offering accessible and comprehensive music education programs. We strive to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to appreciate, perform, and compose music across these diverse genres.

Cultural Exploration: We proudly celebrate our French Canadian musical roots and draw inspiration from Canada's rich musical heritage. We actively collaborate with Canadian composers, infusing our repertoire with the spirit of our nation's creativity. Furthermore, we seek to learn from and collaborate with Indigenous musicians to deepen our connection to the land and culture on which we stand.

Our ultimate goal is to achieve excellence in all aspects of music, from vocal performance to artistic expression. We aspire to be a beacon of musical prowess, continuously honing our craft to deliver outstanding performances that resonate with audiences and inspire future generations.

By embracing our philosophy, we envision a future where the power of music transcends boundaries, where cultural diversity is celebrated through song, and where excellence in music-making enriches the lives of all who hear our voices. Join us on this journey of exploration, education, and excellence as we harmonize the melodies of our Canadian identity.
